MILSET

The International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology MILSET was founded in 1987 in Quebec during the first ESI and has the propose to contribute the development of scientific and technical culture for young through the practice, during leisure times, of a high quality experimental activities.

Its missions

  • To organize International ExpoSciences for all the countries or for the regional areas as Europe, Latin America, the Mediterranean Region, Asia, etc.

  • To organize festivals or weeks of sciences, meetings, colloquiums, seminars, summer schools, publications, study trips, science classes.

  • To organize training of young leaders, frames for the activities transfer from a country to the other.

  • To animate the associative life of the Movement, the network of associations and scientific clubs for the cooperation between organizations and young people, realization of common programs, transfer of expertises, dialogue for international events, holding of a internet server.

  • To help associations members by favoring their dialogue, increasing their credibility with their partners or with their regulating body.

  • To represent the national organizations of scientific youth to important authorities such as UNESCO, ALESCO, UNICEF and the European Commission.

  • To establish Regional Secretariats for the strengthening of their actions and the implementations of poles of resources.

The MILSET is agreed by the French Ministry of Education and is a consultant member of the United Nations.

Joining MILSET is adhering to its charter, that of a movement which concerns world, participates in the local development of scientific and technical educational leisure as well as promoting international cooperation, citizenship and peace, by practicing sciences and technology in a spirit of respect, understanding and solidarity within different geographic and spiritual communities.

Thanks to MILSET, tens of thousands of young have already met to exchange and make the most of their creations, discuss with researchers, youth leaders and industrials. These young have developed projects together, have discovered foreign languages and cultures, and have been trained to acquire new technologies.
